After our Italian feast, I treated everyone to desert at Swensens - which was located on the other side of the block, and at the opposite end of the Italian shop.

Dan and I shared a desert, Coit Tower (RM16.90). It has always been my favourite since I was a little girl. The coit tower consist of vanilla and chocolate ice-cream, slices of bananas, strawberry chunks and syrup, chocolate fudge, crushed peanuts and whipped cream. I love bananas and ice-cream!

We ordered french fries too, since we had 2 little boys with us and also because my mum loves their fries. Their fries are served with 2 sauces; BBQ sauce and tartar sauce. The french fries taste great with the BBQ sauce. In my opinion, another must-have at Swensens.

The rest had ice-creams too, but I did not want to interrupt or stop anyone from enjoying their desserts so that I can just take a few pics for my blog :D

Pizzeria Bella Italia, SS2 PJ

It's been a feasting marathon for me, since I celebrated my first birthday dinner last Sunday with my family and another family from church. It was an early one, since today is actually the actual day - but it is never too early to celebrate any kind of celebration :D

I had the privilege of picking dinner, and I decided to have Italian food! I've visited Pizzeria Bella Italia before - many years ago, when I was 15 or 16 years old. It was a birthday treat for me from a church friend, and I remembered that the pizzas there were pretty good.

For appetizers, we ordered Calamari (RM16) which was served with lettuce leaves and shredded carrots, covered in thousand island dressing. Tartar sauce was also served on the side. I had tasted better ones, but this wasn't too bad either.

We ordered 3 different pizzas. Dan and I are true pizza lovers!! A monthly dose of pizza is mandatory. We had Diovola (RM19++), a beef pepperoni pizza. The beef salami was appetizing, and the pizza was covered with a generous amount of cheese. I like the crust, as it was crunchy.

We also had Hawaii (RM16++), a pizza topped with chunks of chicken and pineapples. In my opinion, it tasted good - much better than Pizza Hut's and Domino's Hawaiian Pizzas.

And the final one was the Seafood Pizza (RM20++). It was generously covered with pieces of salmon, squids and prawns. The seafood was fresh and it was simply heavenly.
Alexis's pizza at Great Eastern Mall are definitely better because their also much more pricey. Thus, the pizzas here are pretty good and decent, as the prices here are reasonable in my opinion.

We ordered one chicken lasagna. Price, I cannot recall but I'm certain it isn't pricey. The lasagna was the best I've tasted in years. The sauce and cheese were perfect in every way! I am definitely looking forward to visit this place again, just for the lasagna.

The total bill came up to RM150 (inclusive of drinks and a Cabonara pasta that I did not have the chance to taste and take a picture, since it was quickly snapped up by the 2 little boys from church LOL)

My hubby and I felt that the price was extremely reasonable. Do check it out, it's just located beside Public Bank in SS2 Square, Petaling Jaya.

Nail polish madness - Episode 1

I always had a fetish for nail art, or simply nail polishes - hence, during the recent nationwide sale, I got a little carried away with purchasing nail polishes. I'd bought a total of 6 bottles from The Face Shop. The regular price is RM5.90 per bottle, but due to the sale -it was only RM3.90! In my opinion, an extremely small amount to pay for a rather good quality nail polish.

I just painted my toenails with matte / pastel blue. Code colour: BL602.

The outcome:

I'd to apply 3 coats to obtain the perfect shade of blue, and I felt like I'd painted by toenails with Buncho Watercolour. Definitely not a colour that will be in my fav list, and I'm not sure if I'll ever reuse this colour again.

Carl's Jr.'s Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger

Since day one of their arrival, Dan and I have been huge fans of Carl's Jr. We've been freely promoting their burgers to family, friends and even acquaintances. Carl's Jr. should hire us as their ambassadors or spokesperson, and I don't mind being rewarded with a lifetime supply of burgers :D

Our must-have at Carl's Jr. would be the Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger. In my opinion, it's the best among the other burgers available on their menu. The Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger consist of 2 charbroiled beef patties, 2 strips of bacon, 2 slices of cheese, crispy onion rings, with BBQ sauce.

The combo set is price RM25++

They also have the best fries in town! McDonald's french fries would come in second. Their so good that you won't mind having them for breakfast, lunch and dinner - everyday! LOL

Burgers aren't completed without pickles!!!! Their so appetizing, that you just want to have more, and more of it! I'm so glad that I can indulge myself with this tantalizing green goodies to my stomach's content, since their 'free-flowing' at Carl's Jr :D

Usually Dan and I would have our monthly dose of Carl's Jr. at Midvalley or Sunway Pyramid, but since we were meeting up with friends at One Utama - Carl's Jr. would be somewhat the best place to enjoy a good meal with good companies.

J Pops!

It's been months since I've blogged about my passion - food! :D
Well let me start this month with some ultra sweet-colourful-round-fried-dough!

Their called J Pops! by J Co Donuts

These mini 'donuts' come in 12 different flavours; Al Capone, Coco Loco, Mango, Tiramisu, Caviar Choco, Caviar Mint, Heaven Berry, Cheese Me Up, Mona Pizza, Oreo and Crunchy. A box of 24 cost RM18.

My favourite flavours are Cheese Me Up and Mona Pizza. The rest are not very impressive, and I would like to point out that Caviar Mint is the worst among the lot.

There is nothing extraordinary about these pops. Texture vice, their very much similar to the donut. Do opt for it if you wish to sample the various flavours available at J Co - as you get to savour 12 different flavours in one sitting.

Wow..it's been too long since I've blogged.
I'm still busy running about here and there, and it's no exception for the husband too.
I had assumed I'll be 'free-er' after settling down with my hubby, but it doesn't seem to be heading into that specific direction.

I wish I was still on honeymoon at Perhentian! I miss the sun, sea and sand!
I can't wait for our next vacation, which I hope will take place in Oct - since my employment contract will be expiring then.
However I'm praying and hoping more for a job. Money isn't everything, but money at present is crucial for survival.
Even though hubby has assured me many times, I guess it's only human nature to worry.

My dear friends, if there is any job openings in PJ - please kindly inform me. I don't want to be left unemployed :(

There's so much I want to share, but have been so busy with preparations for our wedding.

A Wholesome Lunch

I've a problem with remembering names of chinese restaurants. Actually even chinese names. I guess anything to do with the chinese language makes my head spins real badly.

Though I've eaten at this restaurant for several times, I can't seem to remember its name. It's located at the shop row opposite of Faber Ria condo in Taman Desa, and it's beside a corner restaurant called U Like It.

In my opinion, they serve one of the best duck and siew yok around klang valley. Their asam choy is equally good too. The duck meat is extremely savoury and the siew yok is always crunchy. Both meat are tender and just plain lovely! :P

Their chili sauce is no exception. Two thumbs up! Dan is a big fan of their herbal egg. He orders it all the time, because I like it too *hee

In general, everything taste good in this restaurant. Our lunch came to about RM15++. A really small price to pay for a truly satisfying meal :)

Chop! Chop!

I've never been a fan of chicken chop, well not till I tasted Bayu Timor's chicken chop with onion sauce. It was without a doubt delicious, and I've been sort of craving for it lately.

Dan and I ordered a lunch set (RM19.90++), which came with a mushroom soup and a slice of toasted garlic bread. The mushroom soup was extremely appetizing. The set also included a glass of ice tea.

I ordered an additional plate of cheesy french fries (RM4.90), which was a huge disappointment. The amount of cheese on the french fries was barely visible, and the fries were mushy and a tad oily.

I've also tried Secret Recipe's cheesy french fries, and its no different from this. Can't seem to find a place that serves really good cheesy french fries *sobs

Bayu Timor is located at Taman Megah. Its is adjacent to Famous Amos, and its in the same row as Secret Recipe. Their famously known for their asian cuisines, such as Nasi Lemak and their nyonya kuihs.

My dad just got robbed this morning, around 7am.
He went to the Maybank Kawanku, located at Damansara Jaya - just few minutes from Atria Shopping Center to draw out some cash from the ATM machine.
He was alone, and when he was almost done with the withdrawal - he noticed a man with a motorcycle helmet on his head standing behind him.
The man in the helmet, held a knife to my dad's back - and asked my dad to withdraw more, since my dad only redrew RM100.
He also asked my dad for his car keys, in which he threw to the side.

Before my dad could redraw again, another civilian came into the center.
The robber panicked, and he quickly fled with his accomplice who was waiting outside on a motorcycle.
My dad tried to follow him, but he threatened my dad with the knife again.

Thankfully, my dad and the other civilian wasn't harm in anyway.
My advice to all is to NOT visit any ATM centers during EARLY MORNINGS and at NIGHT.
I know it is most convenient during those times, because there are hardly or fewer people around - more parkings available, no long queues etc.
But your life is not worth sacrificing over these few insignificant conveniences.
And please be always aware of your surroundings.

P.S. Dan, no more late night banking for you, promise? I love you too much, and don't make me worry ok?

Goreng-goreng

There's plenty of road-side stalls that sells the traditional pisang goreng, along with most Malaysian's favourite snacks - such as kuih bom, keropok lekor etc.
I've tried many, but one stall that always leaves me coming back for more its a stall that's located between Taman Desa and Taman Danau Desa.

I love their pisang goreng! RM1.00 for 6 pieces. Believe me, 6 isn't enough. The banana is lightly coated with flour, and fried golden. The bananas are always sweet and never too over riped.

Cokodok! These round-babies are heavenly! Its not too floury like the ones you get from other stalls. You can really taste the bananas. Its crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The best I've tasted so far. RM1.00 for 8 round babies!

Keropok lekor is sliced thinly, hence its really crunchy. They've the thick ones too, but I've always prefer crispyness to chewyness. Sadly, the chili sauce that comes with it - isn't up to par. The sauce is very diluted/watery. RM1.oo for many pieces, never bothered to count haha

The stall is just walking distance from my condo in Taman Desa, so if anyone ever drops by for a visit - do let me know in advanced, and I'll tapau these goodies for you to savour :)

Would love to have them again, but I've been diagnosed with chronic diarrhea - hence I would have to abstain from all the mouth-watering fried and oily food, at least till my stool sample results are out :(

Tong Kee Egg Tarts

I've heard many review of these lovely yellow tarts, but I only had the opportunity of savouring them just recently.
I was blessed with these yummylicious goodies for FREE, due to a simple good deed that I did for a friend :D

Their the best egg tarts I've tasted in years. Its sweetness is pleasant, and not overwhelming - and the thickness and crispiness of the pastry is just right.

My friend bought 1/2 a dozen of 'em for me from the Sri Petaling branch, and it was packed nicely in a hard paper box.

Each tart cost only RM1.40. A very small price to pay for a delicious yellow tart.

Pizza at Alexis Ampang

The pizza that I've been constantly raving about has finally landed a spot on my blog. Yay! haha

Dan and I love Alexis Bistro, Ampang's pizzas.
We're not sure if the other branches taste as good, but we do know that the ones in Ampang is simply heavenly.

This time round, I invited a good friend of mine Spunkz to savour the mouth-watering pizza with Dan and I.
We ordered the seafood pizza, which cost RM39.90 ++

Its crust is thin and crunchy, and the pizza is generously topped with seafood; mussels, prawns and squids. You'll love and enjoy every bite of it :D

We decided to order a dessert to complete our meal, as Alexis is also known for their scrumptious cakes. We had Pavlova. A very light non-filling dessert, that has lots of berries and kiwi toppings. A somewhat healthy desert, suitable for the health-conscious.

The pavlova cost RM10++.

Btw, Alexis Bistro is located within Great Eastern Mall. Map can be easily found online. In addition to that, if you're not a seafood fan - the peperoni pizza would be the next best option :)

Girlie Rants Part 2

I'm slightly gemuk already, particularly the lower half of my body.
Too much snacking at work.
I've less than 2 months to achieve my ideal bod - before my final gown fitting, which would most likely be around early of June - and I'm not making any progress towards my goal.
I'm slacking gila..

Mum keeps telling me not to lose anymore, Dan said I just need to tone-up and exercise more - which I haven't been doing, cause I'm usually so dead tired from work (from carrying heavy boxes of drugs and medications).

I feel so unmotivated, partially due to the fact that I know I'm not gemuk - but it doesn't excuse me from not exercising. I know I should, because I've been falling ill so easily and I need to toughen-up my immune system. I definitely do not want to be ill on my wedding day.

I'm not sure where exactly am I heading with this post, but its basically pure ranting. I just need to be more motivated and initiative in every aspect of my life - Am I taking things way too easy or am I stressing up?

I think I'm going nuts..

I'm always broke, when the present season is filled with super nice and 'chun'-ted clothes =_=
And I hate how it makes me feel..
I am a girl, so please bear with me.
Nice clothing makes me irrational or mentally retarded.
I kept wanting to pinjam Dan's credit card so I could shop to my heart's content 0_0
I'm so teruk
And Dan actually wanted to draw out some cash for me. He is so sweet to me all the time :D awww...
So Dan sayang, take me shopping on Friday yah? *grins mischievously* *hint hint* :P

21 things to do during 60 EARTH HOUR lights out tmr.

1) Go on a burglary spree and see how many things you can steal in the dark within 1 hour.

2) Go around your neighborhood selling candles.

3) Start yelling in the middle of the street : "WHO FORGOT TO PAY THE BILLS??!!"

4) Drive your car with the headlights off and see if you can hit a stray dog.

5) Try cooking a full set of dinner in the dark.

6) Have a barbecue in the middle of the street.

7) Have buddies come over and get drunk before the hour starts. When the lights are out, start beating the crap out of each other.

8) Walk around naked chanting : "there's no place like home...there's no place like home..."

9) Drink plenty of water before the hour starts, then keep peeing without aiming cuz it's too dark.

10) Sms your friends : "I'm watching you...... "

11) Call your bf/gf and say : "Hey baby, what r u wearing ??? "

13) Go through your siblings dirty smelly laundry and throw them all over the house, especially the undies.

The Famous Wantan Mee

Hailing from small town Port Klang, I had good wantan mee to savour almost every week - but once I shifted up to PJ about 6 years ago, the days of good wantan mee was non-existent. It's difficult to find the perfect wantan mee, which consist of sweet-fatty char siew with noodles drowned in savoury and tantalizing black sauce.

Thankfully, my search has finally come to an end :D

Dan brought me to the Famous Sungai Besi wantan mee for supper last week. The wantan mee was heavenly! The best I've tasted in years! I felt like I've been deprived of it for ages. The char siew was so delicious! Sweet, with crunchy bits and with chunks of fats. Mmm...

The chicken feet or 'kai kiok' was also undeniably good. I felt like having more, but I was too full and gluttony is a sin *hee.

The 'sway kao' (my chinese is horrendous, so please excuse me) was appetizing. Filled with bits of mushroom, minced meat and prawns.

Total bill came to RM15.00. Definitely the best wantan mee that I've tasted in years, and it was worth every penny or cent spent. I'm looking forward to my next visit - next week perhaps :D

It is torturous to makan gaji-buta

Work is such a bore.
I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I'm saying it anyway - I need more difficult and challenging tasks at work..argh..
I basically need more tasks to keep me occuppied till 5pm.

I know, I know...I should be grateful that I'm not being flooded with projects like I was in Nestle.
But having absolutely nothing to do for most of the time at work is humanly torturous. Honest!

Dan keeps telling me to complete my tasks as slowly as possible, but I still can't drag it till lunch hour. I'm always done with everything before it even strikes 11am.

I really can't do much or go elsewhere, since I'm tied-down to this company for another 5 months. Hence I just should be thankful that I'm eating gaji-buta, no?

Well thankfully, I still have Dan and friends who have been unimaginely supportive and comforting.

How to firm up, without losing anymore weight?

I'm getting hitched in less than 4 months time, and I'm losing weight. Not intentionally, honest! I suck at dieting, food is my greatest weakness. You could probably bribe me with food haha.
It's supposed to be a good thing to most brides-to-be, but I'm pretty contented with my physic.
The worst part of it all, I'm losing 'em in all the wrong areas =_=

The top of my evening gown doesn't fit well anymore. Its definitely more roomie, and I've to waste money on alteration.
I need more boobs 0_0

But thankfully the bootie is still just right.

I just need to firm up! But if I start exercising, I know I'll lose some weight for sure - and my mum will start nagging again =_=

Maybe I can use the reason above as a good excuse to Dan to not exercise *hee hee hee :P

A fishy dinner

Last week, Dan and I brought our cousin cum friend Trix to savour a really fishy yet scrumptious meal at the ever-busy Steven's Corner that's located at OUG/Sri Petaling.

Their famously known for their fish head curry. Once you've tried it, you'll definitely be craving for more *slurp! The fish head curry isn't too spicy, and it will definitely tingle your savoury taste buds - as this dish has the perfect balance of spiciness and sourness that is extremely appetizing.

For 3 person, it cost us around RM30-35. I can't remember the exact amount.
Dan reminded them numerous time to prepare a small portion for us, but I guess they always pretend not to remember or hear =_=

As predicted, the serving size was way huge - and since Dan was the only guy around, he was the tong sampah for the night :P Its always the same scenario whenever we dine at Steven's Corner 0_0

We also had fried fish roe - a must have! I like the texture of the fried fish roe; its crispy and it has a grainy-feel on the inside. One plate cost more than RM5.

Total bill came to RM42, including 2 ice-lime (limau ais) and 1 ice-lemon tea (teh-o ais limau). A tad pricey for a mamak dinner, but it was indeed a satisfying one.

The sweet-funny proposal

Dan proposed to me yesterday!
Hubby, thank you so much for the efforts that you'd put in.
He got very little sleep the previous night, because he wanted to do so much for me.

I felt really bad that the proposal didn't turn out as planned, but I will always remember it - as it was the sweetest thing ever!

My surprise that was secretly hiding in Dan's car boot *hee.

He got me to transfer some of his stuff from the passenger sit into the car boot after church, and the proposal pop-ped right out as soon as I opened the boot! And when he got down on his knees with the ring, it started drizzling even heavier :P It was a comical yet romantic proposal. In addition to that, he wanted to proposed to me in front of all the church members, but everyone decided to go home earlier yesterday.

He actually had lots of ideas up his sleeves, but he said that everything just went 0_0 the night before *haha

However I'm extremely glad that he still decided to proposed to me :)

Well the most important thing is that I'll be getting married to him this coming June. I could not asked for anything more, as I'm most blessed and grateful for having him as my husband-to-be.

The 'bling-bling'. A very beautiful diamond ring, which looks very much like a flower. And guess what? It looks best on my finger *hee

Even though everything didn't go according to plan, it meant a whole lot to me :)

It is truly difficult to maintain a blog. You've got to constantly keep the momentum going, or a short or long hiatus of non-blogging is bound to occur.

Well that's what I've been trying to do for the past few days; I'm trying my utmost best to keep the 'blogging momentum' alive.

The main problem for me in maintaining it is that I tend to run out of interesting topics to blog about.

I've a 8-5pm job, and I work 5.5 days in a week - which leaves me with minimal time to really eat out here, there and everywhere (as I usually have dinner at home with my family or/and with Dan on most weekdays), and I barely have any time for an escapade - far away from the city.

Anyhow, it isn't as bad as it seems. Dan takes me out to new eateries as often as he can, as he knows I'm a fool for food - and feasting and enjoying a good meal makes me really happy!

If you're a frequent visitor to Jalan Alor, I believe that the Famous Ngau Kee Beef Noodle should be familiar to you. It's located along Tingkat Tong Shin, a quite narrow and dark lane - behind of the famous-controversial Jalan Alor.

It wasn't my first time here. Dan has brought me here on numerous occassions, and I've never been left disappointed after every meal. I'd the dry beef noodle with kuey teow, while Dan had loh shee fun (rat noodle) instead. One bowl cost only RM5.00. A very small price to pay for a yummy-beefy meal. Mmmm...

The soup taste fantastic too! The soup consist of beef balls, and many cow internal organs that are guaranteed safe for human consumption (but I'm not sure if their 100% clean 0_0). It contains lots of MSG in it, thus drinking plenty of water is highly recommended.

One of the most damn-syok chilli in town! I remember having a diarrhea once, after consuming an unadvisable amount of it. It tasted awesome with the noodles, but not so when you're having a fire-ry war with your anus =_=

If I'm not mistaken the stall is only open during the night but till the wee hours of the morning. The stall is pretty run-down and shabby, it also stinks a lil and don't be surprise to see a fat rat or two running around and having a feast of their own!

What's with PAPAs and MAMAs?

I honestly think that the trend of naming restaurants with the terms 'Mama' and 'Papa' are way unattractive and not appetizing.

There are numerous dinning/food outlets across Msia that find this trend somewhat 'appealling'. We've Mama's Kitchen in TTDI, Mama Chops and Papa Grill in OUG (if I'm not mistaken), Beard's Papa in MV (that sells heavenly-cream-oozing-cream puffs), and Chez Papa French Bistro & Wine Room in JB (which I'd stumbled upon via google).

The latest eatery outlet that decided to embrace the similar trend is located at Berjaya Times Square, and its called Papa John's Pizza. There isn't much to chose from, when it comes to food and when your shopping in BTS - hence Dan and I decided to give it a try.

Beef pepperoni pizza. I can't remember if this is the 9" or 11" pizza. The pizza didn't taste too bad. It was just good, but not fantastic.

The only unique thing about Papa John's, is that their pizzas are served with preserved Jalapeno chillies - which goes pretty well with the pizza, but too much of it kills the taste and flavours of the pizza.

A big-fat-juicy Jalapeno chilli. Quite spicy.

Price vice, slight above average.

However when it comes to pizza - Alexis Ampang's pizza rulez! Try the pizzas at The Great Eastern Mall branch - you'll surely want more :)~

My work is becoming a bore. Its too routine, too predictable, and tiring.
Would love to start looking for a new job, but I'm tied-down to this current one as my contract only ends in August.

I'm really looking forward to new things, but then again - my field is so specific that it limits me into venturing into other fields.

I've no intentions of going back to the factory line again, as the working hours are long and unpredictable (even though the pay is lucrative) - I prefer a job that doesn't suck the-life-out-of-me! I don't mind being paid less (that's why resigning from Nestle wasn't such a tough decision, regrets - yeah, a lil but I love life and I don't intend of slaving my entire life at work)

Oh let's talk about food instead. It is so much more intriguing - no? *hee

Well I've been to Restaurant Loong Kee for quite a number of times already, but I've always been too busy stuffing my face with its yummylicious noodles to capture any pics. The restaurant is located along Jalan Pahang, and opposite of Hospital Besar - just in case, you do get a heart attack from consuming its atherosclerosis-causing noodles.

Heart attack noodle! The mee noodle can be substitute with bihun, but mee gives the whole dish a more mouth-full feel. Yum Yum!
I can't remember what you call the fatty-porky in chinese. Their definitely bad for your arteries - but you'd better die from eating them, than not having them at all haha. Dan, please help me!! (Just edit the post, thanks!)

Fried squids!! Fried to perfection! Crispy on the outside, yet chewy and soft on the inside. Goes well with chilli sauce, which is served together.
Romaine or yau mak in chinese. Hopefully I'm not wrong 0_0 Nothing much to comment about, except that its a tad oily.

The ultimate sambal. which goes extremely well with the noodles. It'll increase your risk of an actual heart attack, but a little doesn't kill. Honest!
3 dishes amounted to about RM33. It is very reasonable as portions were big for just the 2 of us.

As a nutritionist, I'd advice you to abstain from such meals but as Cass - go ahead, and dig in!

A not so happy CNY

A very Happy Chinese New Year to all!

I'm sure most are still celebrating, unlike me - I'm already back to work on the 3rd day, and definitely not by free will.

Well my CNY wasn't such a good one - been moody for sometime.

Had migraine for almost a week, it was quite severe that I'd to take 3 days of MC.

After the series of migraine, I'd an allergic reaction to the migraine medication - hence I'd to spent RM50 from my ang pow collection on more medication.

Went to a 24 hours clinic on the 1st day of CNY, just to get 1/2 dozen of anti-histamine pills for the mouth allergy that I'd.

Thus as predicted, CNY was a torturous one for me - eating which is usually the most wonderful part of CNY, became the most excruciating affair for me 0_0

However, thankfully it is much better right now.

Overall these past week has been quite a moody and rowdy one.

It has been awhile since Dan and I had the time to tickle our taste buds with new and yummy food as a duo.

One weekend or weekday (I can't remember), we went over to MV Megamall (it's our frequent dating/hangout place at present, as we're leaving no more than 15 mins away).

Well, deciding on a makan place is one of the most tedious task for the both of us. It takes us hours (okok, maybe not hours) but considerately a long period of time for us to decide on a place to fill out rather big tummies :P

However it didn't take us too long this time round, as we've been eyeing on Rak Thai, a Thai restaurant that's located in The Gardens.

We ordered the Tom Yum Goong (or Kung) soup, and it was lovely. Do not be deceived by its super clear appearance. A burst of flavours EXPLODED in my mouth, as soon as I took my first spoonful of Tom Yum soup! Truly a delightful and tasteful surprise! In addition, the prawns were HUGE.

I ordered the Thai Belacan Fried Rice as my main course. In my opinion, it tasted mediocre - and it was a lil too salty for my liking. I'll however give them credit for the huge prawns and squids :)

Dan on the other hand, had the Thai Pineapple Fried Rice - which I felt was a more appertizing dish compared to mine. Overall, the 2 latter dishes weren't unique or special.

Our meal came out to about RM40. Thai food aren't cheap, but when it comes to food (good food preferred) - I don't mind splurging my hard-earned wages on 'em :)

A bit of some stuff i did which i have been way to lazy to post up here.
Last yr a roadshow for Dunhill brought me to a couple of places including East M'sia.
Got to try out some really nice makans :

This is pork noodles in Kuantan ..or better known as "Chu Yoke Fun " ... Pork meat flour.

This is fish noodles in Sabah....Very scrumptious., They serve wet or dry, so i had the dry one with a bowl of fish soup ...the fish is very fresh .

'Kun Lou' mee in Sabah.

This is vegetable and flour noodle in Sarawak. Also tried Sarawak laksa and Fuzhou kueh...very nice, but no pics.

Also, satay babi in Sarawak...the orange white color drink is called White Lady...and the ice kacang kinda bowl is ice kacang with lime. Nice.

This is kaya bread at Sbread, Midvalley. First few times like nice la...so Cass bought a jar of kaya there...but then somehow it didn't taste as good after awhile.

This is durian pancake from Sweet Chatz, Midvalley...nice. Cass' favourite.

I've been wanting to update our blog on so many THINGS!!! But never got to it, as the lazy bug caught-up with me.

Christmas and New Year was an extremely busy time for me and Dan. Was as busy as a bee with VERY-very last minute shopping, and cooking - baking - bla bla bla *hee

Dan gave me the best gift for year 2008 - lots of kisses and hugs!! :)
Hahaha...besides the endless kisses and hugs, he bought me a truly unexpected gift - Canon IXUS 80 IS!!

And a BLUE one! NICEEE!

It was a wonderful surprise, as I was planning to save up for it. THANKS DARLING! I know I've said it many times, but I'm truly grateful for it :) You're such an awesome hubby - ALL OF THE TIME!!

A stiffy-neck day

I woke up this morning with an extremely terrible stiff neck.
I could not even turn my head an inch to the left, as it would hurt tremendously!
I can't recall having such a excruciating stiff neck experience before 0_0
Thankfully it is SLIGHTLY less painful now.

He graduated with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Music Arrangement and receive the Award of Excellence from the college.Am truly proud of his achievement, and am thankful to God for his constant blessing and favour upon his life :)

My enthusiasm has always run short when it comes to everything (literally EVERYTHING, except for my darling Dan.
If only I could earn and make a living from just being around Dan daily - it would be the best and ultimate job for me :)

When we arrived at the city, there was this non-functional fountain with lights and all...everyone seems to be hanging around it.

At a mall's foodcourt, there was this stall selling these really nice Mochi. They're kinda small but costs bout Rm4 each.
They're sticky on the outside but easy on the chewing...and the cream inside taste really good.
There's a variety of flavors to choose from, I chose the Caramel and Red Bean ones...really really delicious.

The sausages there are also really nice...I can't remember how much they were...but i remember they were crunchy on the outside and meaty on the inside.

We have Polo, they have Zolo.

Shanghai's version of the TimeOut magazine.

And they have a bunch of really nice architecture.

He'll be flooding our blog with pics from Shanghai soon, but he has been pretty busy - recuperating, getting things done for our apartment, and with rehearsals.
He is indeed a busy man, and I appreciate him very much - because I know he works really hard to provide a comfortable life for me :)
We'll be doing lots of cleaning up this Sat at our apartment. Can't wait!! :P

Day 5 Without Dan: Still feeling down

Have been really looking forward to his return since the day that he left for China. He'll be back tmr evening. I doubt I'll be able to meet with him, I'm sure he'll be extremely tired. Hopefully I'll be able to meet with him on Tuesday. I desperately need a hug and kiss from him :)

On the contrary, I haven't been feeling good since early this morning. My tummy has been feeling a tad queasy, and it worsen through the day. After having breakfast and lunch, my condition showed no improvement :(
Ended up having a severe diarrhea and my tummy hurt even more. To add on to that, I've been having a rather terrible sore throat for several days already *sobs. A kiss from Dan will surely remove all pain :)

I took a long afternoon nap, woke up feeling lousy still. I really need Dan with me now - too much has happen in a week, and all I truly yearn for is Dan.

Day 4 Without Dan: Its going to be a LOnNnNnNG Weekend

Usually Saturday passes by in a blink, but without Dan around - time seems to remain stagnant 0_0
This weekend will definitely be a long one..

I felt extra lousy today - thanks to my parents.
The worst part of it all, I couldn't call Dan up to vent out my frustration. I did sms him, which made me feel a whole lot better - but it would have been even better, if I spoke to him.
Everything seems better with him around :)

Oh well, there are a couple of things to keep me busy today. Have to meet up with my uncle & aunt again. It becomes a drag, when you dine too often and frequently with people of not-of-the-same wavelength =_=
I'm not being sarcastic or rude. I respect them, but there isn't much common ground to have much conversation - if you get what I mean.

At least this time I've an excuse to not stay on after dinner. Someone ordered a Lemon Frosted Cake from me today, and they want it by tmr - so I'll be busy baking tonight.
Its a good start for me - my first customer. I guess I've something interesting to tell Dan when he comes back from China.

For those that are still clueless - I take cake orders, such as:

Day 3 Without Dan: He finally called!

It was so good to hear from him. I know, I know it's just been a coupled of days - but it feels as if its been ages since I've heard his voice

His voice had such a calming and soothing effect but it made me miss him even more, which made me teared naturally. I managed to control my tears, so that we could have a decent conversation. However by the end of our conversation, I broke out into tears again - knowing that it was time to say our goodbyes.

Its so difficult not having him closed by. Its been such a challenging experience for me, that I get so easily upset when he takes a little longer to reply me, or when he doesn't sms me - when I'm expecting to hear from him or when the feeling of missing him becomes to atrociously impossible to bear.

I might sound a little immature and all, but being so far away from the person you love so much is emotionally overwhelming. I'm not sure on how I would cope when he goes to Chiang Mai in Dec or when travelling becomes more frequent in his line of work. I pray and hope that they'll pay him more, so I could travel around with him and be closed to him at all times.

This is the first time I'm wishing that the weekend would passed by quickly. I can't wait for Monday to come, though I might not be able to meet up with him, but at least I'm able to hear and speak to him for a little longer..

Day 2 Without Dan: I hate that you're away

Day 1 Without Dan: With love to Shanghai

It was just passed 9, when we said our goodbyes. I held him tightly, and if I could - I wouldn't have let him go. He told me not to cry, but crying at that moment was mandatory. This one week is surely lonesome without him.

He reached China safely early this morning, and my heart is at peace that his journey was a smooth one. But my heart aches knowing that I wouldn't be able to hear from him as much as I would like to - I wouldn't be able to nag him about sleeping enough, eating well, or call to just say 'I miss you very much hubby', whenever I choose to.

If you were here, we would spend the holidays together; watching dvds at home or out having some yummy pastries or desserts together. Monday seems so far away, and the only thing I'm looking forward is to your return - and all the great stories and pictures of your performances in Shanghai.

I miss you Daniel..more than this heart is willing to bear..

I wish time spent with you would never end - that it was for eternity, no beginning or end.
The thought that you'll be away for a whole week, makes me sick inside because it'll be hard being away from you, and not being able to hear from you as often as I would like.
However I'm glad that this door of opportunity has been opened to you, and I do pray that many more will come your way.
I just miss you oh-so-very much..

I'm beginning to enjoy my work, which comes as a surprise to me.

I've been entrusted by my boss to carry out lots of research, which is something that I truly enjoy doing.

At times I feel like I'm back in Uni again, it reminds me of Uni assignments where lots of research is required -but minus the need to write pages after pages of lenghty paragraphs *hee.

I'm quite surprise and flattered that my boss constantly asked for my opinion on matters big & small. Well it does make working much more delightful, when you have a boss who is willing to hear you out and who is quite generous with compliments. Definitely a blessing from God :) Thank you!

In addition to that, I'm exceptionally fortunate to have a bf that is ever supportive, caring and kind. I don't know what I would do without him :) I miss you very much darling... I just love being in love with you :)

On another note, Daniel will be playing with Farid Ali tonight at No Black Tie, KL. Everyone is invited to come -to just chill, relax and have fun! They will be performing at the World Music Festival in Shanghai next month - so take this opportunity to catch them live in KL. Come yah :)

My 23rd birthday dinner

I celebrated my birthday at home with my family and Dan yesterday. Mum took a lot of afford to prepare and cook for us all a 5-course dinner.

We had Garden Salad mixed with Balsamic & Italian dressings;
Stir-fried bean sprout with garlic;

Mouth-watering PORK CHOP!!!

Honey-lemon chicken;

and baked Jewish-style fish. Dan and I fancied this very much.

I didn't have much to eat, as my stomach couldn't accommodate 'em all. The capacity of my stomach has somewhat decreased, but i think its a seasonal thing *haha

Dan surprised me with a Haagen Daz Cookies & Cream Ice-cream Cake!! Yummy! But the surprised wasn't exactly a surprise, thanks to a not-so-smart individual.

It's the yummiest ice-cream cake I've ever tasted, and it's sort of my first and last Haagen Daz cake. Dan said it cost approximately twice the price of one Secret Recipe cake O_O

The unsurprised cake from Secret Recipe - White Chocolate Macadamia Nut cake, which is one of my favourite beside the Classic Cheesecake.

Thank you to my mum and sisters for preparing the scrumptious and very appetizing dinner, and definitely to Dan who has been such an amazing bf, as always :)

A WONDERFUL early birthday treat!

I had an extremely good time with Daniel today. He took me out to celebrate the joyous occasion of me turning 23 this coming Tuesday *hee

He brought me over to

for tea time. Dessert's Bar is located at Menara Hap Seng. They do have another branch in Mount Kiara, if I'm not mistaken. They had a Ramadhan promotion, so we chose meal 4 (RM16.00), which consisted of any crepe dish on the menu, and it came with a free smoothie and a scoop of ice-cream.

We had the banana rum and raisins crepe, which came with a free scoop of classic dark chocolate that I chose. The crepe was DELICIOUS! The rum wasn't too strong, and the raisins and almond flakes gave more flavour to the crepe. The classic dark chocolate ice-cream wasn't too bitter, and it complimented the rum and raisins crepe perfectly.

We opted for the banana strawberry smoothie, which tasted only mediocre. I think they added banana essence into the smoothie, which gave an off taste to the smoothie.

After pampering me with desserts, Dan brought me over to One Utama. He bought me two pretty sandals from Vincci as my birthday gifts.

Dan picked the purple ribbon sandals for me, and I picked the pink one. Thank you darling! *hugs tight-tight
We also shopped for some clothes for Dan :) I hope you really like the shirt that I'd picked for you :)
We then went over to KFC for dinner. I noticed that their chickens aren't as small as they used to be, hence gone are my KFC-boycotting days *lol

It was indeed a wonderful day because of my wonderful Dan :) I'm already missing you so terribly...

Chewy Love

I enjoy pampering Dan every now and then. I don't believe that I need a reason or a special occasion to do something special for my darling.

I made chewy chocolate chip cookies in the shape of a heart for Dan about 2 weeks back. The recipe is extremely simple, but its taste is unbelievably good *yum yum

I love you Dan!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
ING:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 unsalted butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

DIR:
1. Preheat oven at 165 degree Celsius.
2. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt.
3. In a bowl, cream butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well. Beat in the vanilla, egg and egg yolk until light and fluffy and mixed with the sifted ingredients.
4. Stir chocolate chips by hand, and drop cookie dough by using an ice-cream scoop. if you want to, shape scooped dough into heart shapes (this might be a tad tedious, as dough is very sticky).
5. Bake for 15-17 mins or till edges are lightly toasted.

I'm currently working as a nutritionist at a pharmacy. I just found out today from a colleague, that I'm not entitled to ALL the public holidays in Selangor. Only 12 SELECTED public holidays that have been chosen by the company, and that SUCKS =_=

I feel a tad cheated, because they did not specify that it was only 12 SELECTED DAYS during the interview =_=
Well I guess I can take comfort in the fact that I get to go home at 5pm sharp everyday, but the thought that I've to work half day every Saturday makes me all grouchy again - and I then realize that the thought of work or anything relating to work is not something that I can use to cheer myself up. It isn't horrible, but it ain't that great either - if you get what I mean.

All I truly need to feel all better right now is to receive a warm and nice cuddle from darling Dan, and maybe a serving of Belgian Waffles top with lots of chocolate sauce & strawberries *hee

I've been wanting to blog for sometime, but I've been extremely lazy. I've just started working as a nutritionist in a pharmacy, actually it's already my second week - so far, it's pretty mundane. Not many tasks and responsibilities have been unloaded onto me yet - and I'm definitely thankful, since I'd an extremely bad experience with my first job.

Had the opportunity of holidaying at Fraser's Hill for a couple days before starting work. However I wished it had been longer, and I wished that I'd more alone time with Dan.

The serene and beautiful view at the bungalow we stayed at.

Had scones and tea at The Smokehouse. A pot of tea and two scones cost RM18.00 per person. Cost a bomb, but worth splurging, since its the holidays *hee

I love the scones! Crumbly, and topped up with lotsa butter, chunky strawberry jam and fresh whipped cream! I'm going to try my hands on 'em soon - I hope baking scones is as easy as eating 'em :P

And of course, a picture with my darling Dan. Would have been a dull and boring holiday without him. I wonder when will my next holiday be...

I went over to One U yesterday to do some catching with an old friend. We went over to Theobroma Chocolate Lounge for tea.

I ordered the Chocolate, Nuts & Sultana Crepe (RM14.90). It wasn't too sweet or too nutty. Its taste, aroma & texture was just right :) I highly recommend this, as it will definitely satisfy a hungry soul *hee It's quite filling, so you might want to share this with a friend.

My friend Trix had the Belgian Waffle (RM 14.90), and it cost us an additional RM2.50 for a scoop of Magnolia Vanilla ice-cream. The waffle was lovely too, but it would have been better if it was slightly more crunchier - like the ones that is serve in Waffles World. The texture is perfect!

Dan came over to meet me for dinner, and to watch Wall-E. I enjoyed the movie very much - I laughed a whole lot throughout the movie, I guess I'm easily humoured *hee

We had dinner at Wong Kok. I had the Hot and Spicy Shrimp Noodle Soup (RM9.80). It had an off taste, and a terrible aftertaste. I didn't like it at all. A very bad choice, as I was really hungry at the time.

I ordered Dan the Cheese Baked Rice with Chicken Chop with Italian Sauce (RM14.90), which only tasted mediocre - according to Dan. Did not taste it, as the spicy noodles spoilt my appetite.

I don't think I would ever want to dine at Wong Kok anymore. Never found their food worth splurging on.

Wal-nana Cake!

Have been wanting to bake banana walnut cake aka wal-nana cake for quite awhile, but never got to it - I'm not sure why either.
First thing first, walnuts and all the other type of nuts cost a bomb! Seriously. Thus you can choose to not include the walnuts into this recipe.

Wal-nana Cake Recipe
ING:
150g butter
70g marjarine
185g caster sugar
3 eggs
180g mashed bananas
50-80g chopped walnuts (optional)
225g flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp soda bicarbonate
1/8 tsp vanilla essence

DIR:
1. Cream butter, margarine & sugar till fluffy.
2. Whisk eggs, and add in little at a time to the above.
3. Add in mashed bananas, followed by flour, baking powder, soda bicarbonate & vanilla essence.
4. Stir in chopped walnuts.
5. Bake in 9 inch round cake tray at 170 degree Celsius for approximately 40 minutes.

My perfect wal-nana cake!

Dan and I love their really creamy cream puffs. In my opinion, their the best in town. No doubt, their a tad pricey - RM3.80 per piece.

Their extremely generous with the cream, which is why their worth RM3.80 :) I would love to indulge myself with these cream puffs everyday, but I'll end up being a puff too *hee

The cream isn't too sweet. Its sweetness is just right :)

I've been wanting to try their Fondant for sometime already, as I'd read good reviews on it via a food blog. The fondant cost RM9 for 2 pieces - very pricey, as the portion is small.

The fondant is extremely chocolaty - a must for chocolate-lovers like me :) I gave the first bite to Dan, and he immediately knew I would love it, and he was right :) Yummy!

Durian Fetish!

Yup it's the Durian season, hence I don't need an excuse to bake Durian cake! YUMMY!!! It's fairly simple to make. All the ingredients are shown and listed below.

Durian Cake Recipe
ING:
150g butter
70g margarine
185g caster sugar
3 eggs
150g mashed Durian
225g flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp soda bicarbonate

Mashed Durian!! Was so tempted to just eat it as it is *hehehe

DIR:
1. Cream butter, margarine & caster sugar till fluffy.
2. Whisk eggs & add egg little by little to the above & blend well.
3. Add the mashed durian, followed by the flour, baking powder & soda bicarbonate.
4. Bake in 9'' inch round cake tin at 160-190 degree Celsius for approximately 40-45 minutes.

The end product: Rich-tasting and crumbly Durian cake. Mmmmm :)

P/S: It might stink quite badly during the process of making and baking the cake. Definitely not for the faint heart :P

I've finally fallen ill again. It's been too long that I've been sick-free. I guess I should have seen it coming *hee
I've come up with two possible reasons for my current illness; too much durians or too many interview sessions :P
Each interview session is very much similar, I'm practically reiterating myself for each one. But at times I choose to go fancy la, so I'll add some spice here and there to make me sound more intriguing *hee
Extremely tired of being interviewed, but if no interviews - no chance of getting a job soon *sigh
I wish I could be a food critic; eat all day and comment all day :) I'll be very round then, and nicer to hug too - right Dan? :P

Not very delicious

Dan and I had the opportunity of dining at Delicious, One Utama on Saturday. I've been wanting to try it out for sometime, and as usual Dan would obliged - as he always spoils me rotten *hee

Dan had their Four Cheese Macaroni, which cause a whooping RM19.90 - as the portion was rather small. Dan said the cheese tasted artificial, like the instant ones. It looks appetizing, but it tasted mediocre in my opinion.

I on the other hand, had the Tunisian Eggplant & Roasted Tomato Spaghettini, which was also a tad pricey - RM17.90, since the dish mainly consist of only egg plants and tomatoes. Taste vice, nothing glamorous or extravagant. However I would give them credit for their rather generous portion of egg plants, and herbs.

We did not try any of their deserts, as we were very full from tea-time snacks. In the back of my head, I've a feeling that their deserts would not be as good as the ones in Alexis - hence I don't think we'll be visiting Delicious anytime soon.

Salmon Delight

Well, it's not something new to all you guys that I enjoy cooking & baking. I especially love to pamper Dan with good and mouth-watering dishes when given any opportunity.
This is my Salmon specialty (I call it Salmon Delight!) that I've only cooked for Dan :) It's extremely simple to prepare, and delicious! A great meal to prepare for you're other half or loved ones. He'll be definitely satisfied, right Dan? *hee

Salmon Delight Recipe
Ingredients:
Salmon (of course! :P)
Black Pepper
Salt
Chopped Parsley
Dried Bay Leaves
Rosemary
Mixed Italian Herbs
A few mashed garlic cloves
Olive Oil
Lemon

Directions:
1. Marinate the Salmon with black pepper, salt, dried bay leaves, chopped parsley, rosemary, mixed italian herbs, olive oil and the mashed garlic cloves.
2. Refrigerate it for a couple of hours before cooking, better if overnight.
3. Pan-fry the Salmon using olive oil, under medium flames for about 3-5 minutes on each sides, or till the Salmon flesh becomes flaky.
4. Add more chopped parsley onto both sides of the Salmon before removing it from the pan, pour the remaining olive oil from the pan onto the cooked Salmon.
5. Squeeze a slice of lemon onto the cooked Salmon before serving, and make sure to serve it hot!

You can serve the pan-fried salmon with sauteed brocolli, carrots, button mushrooms and onions - seasoned with black pepper and salt.

A hearty meal for the man I love so much :)

My first mamak concert

I had an amazing time on Saturday, thanks to my beloved Daniel. It is always a trill to watch Dan rock the stage with his bass :) He pampered my parents and I to an enjoyable mamak musical show at KLPAC, and an artery-fat-clogging supper thereafter :P

I really like the whole mamak concept for the show, maybe next year we can have 'Let's Go Thai Chow!' - and maybe serve the audience a dish of hokkien mee with lots of fried and crispy pork lard! Yum! *LOL* I wonder if I can sell that idea to them *hee
But it would have to be a non-halal show :P

My first concert

Finally I'm done with the 3 night 'Lets Go Mamak' show at KLPac. It was tiring but really fun especially the experience of playing with our local traditional instruments like the Gendang, Rebab, Cak Lempung, Chinese Han drums, Gu Zheng, and Indian Bansuri and Tabla.
I will post up pictures as soon as i get them from the guys that takes pictures.
Being in a contemporary modern jazz band infused with ethic instruments was not an easy task and i believe we all learnt a lot from doing this concert.
I'm of course very happy that Cass and her parents came to watch on the 2nd nite and we went for some totally awesome heart-attack noodles.
It was also very pleasant to have 3 nights of full house which maxed out the hall. 200 pairs of eyes and ears delivered quite some pressure O_o.
Though, i wish some of my buddies could have made it. Not even one of my Klang/high school friend showed up despite the invitation via Facebook for my very first concert. Oh well, i'm sure there's more to come.

I've been baking A LOT for the past week. For the mean time, it's the only thing that is keeping me occupied - or my mind will start churning up negative and miserable thoughts. Sometimes I wonder whether I'd made the right decision by resigning from my previous job. But when I think of it again, I felt so much more down when I'd the job. Its just that the process of searching for another job, is making me a tad depressed - can't seemed to find one that suits me or is to my liking.
I'll be turning 23 soon, and at times I'm still not sure of my career pathway.

Dan has been doing a great job by cheering me on constantly - thanks Hub. I do wish he was physically more available, but he has been extremely busy with work. Am excitedly glad that he is doing well in his career :) At least there's something to celebrate and be happy about :) - hence all the more to bake and feast *hee

Well let's get back to food :) Apple bread pudding is simple to make. Just add slices of one whole apple to the bread pudding recipe.

The apple bread pudding was a tad more mushy compared to the normal bread pudding. But it still taste yummy. Goes well with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. You can also replace the apple with bananas - it'll taste equally good :)

I like to alter recipes according to my liking - hence for this bread pudding recipe, I added in brown sugar.

The outcome: the crust has a darker shade of brown - looks burnt, but in real fact it isn't. In terms of taste, it is much more finger-licking-good compared to the original recipe. If you were to compare the apple bread pudding with this one, you'll notice the crust is significantly lighter. For the apple bread pudding, I did not use brown sugar.

Bread Pudding Recipe (modified by Cass)
ING:
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup granulated white sugar
1/8 cup brown sugar
6 slices crust-on white bread
2 small boxes of Ligo golden seadless raisins
1 & 1/4 cups of milk
1 tsp vanilla essence
2 eggs
Some margarine
8 inch square tray

DIR:
1. Preheat oven at 175 deg. Celsius.
2. Add cinnamon and sugars together - mixed well. Put aside.
3. Grease tray with margarine.
4. Spread one side of bread with margarine.
5. Cut bread diagonally - half. Arrange the triangle-shaped bread in the tray, slightly overlapping with one another - butter side-up.
6. As bread is added, sprinkle the sugar mixed and raisins onto the first layer.
7. Repeat steps 4-6 for the next layer.
8. Mixed milk, eggs and vanilla essence in a bowl. Pour over bread.
9. Set aside for 15 minutes.
10. Bake for 30 minutes, or until inserted toothpick comes out clean.

Up next is Lemon Frosted Lemon Cake. A favourite among my family and Dan. This is my second trial, and it turn out prettily well. If you remembered the post on my first trial, it came out ugly - like some sort of volcano cum mountain *hee

Lemon Frosted Lemon Cake
ING:
226g unsalted/salted butter
1 cup granulated white sugar
4 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla essence
zest of 1 large lemon/2 small lemons
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup (60ml) lemon juice
9 inch round tray

For icing:
115g icing sugar (sifted)
2 tbsp or more lemon juice (according to preference on thickness and lemon taste)

DIR:
1. Preheat oven at 180 deg. Celsius. Grease tray with butter/margarine.
2. Cream butter and sugar till light, fluffy and pale in colour.
3. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Followed by lemon zest and vanilla.
4. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt and lemon juice.
5. Bake about 40 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean.
6. Allow cake to cool.
7. Mixed icing sugar and lemon juice together, and pour mixture over the cake.

3~Received an offer from Nestle Head Office (HOU) yesterday, to be part of the sales team.
4~Told HOU that I just resigned from the other Nestle a couple of days ago.
5~HOU said they would get back to me, but I'm quite skeptical. Hmm..
6~I went nuts because of mum. She's been brutally hard on me since my resignation.
7~As a result, I drove Dan nuts too 0_0
8~I hope we won't make 'nutty' babies in the future.

Though life will be a tad more busier for the both of us, I've confidence that we'll still have time for one another, family and friends.

I wish I could completely express all of the excitement within me, but I've no idea where to begin.
I'm like a little girl with a bag of candies in her hand, and I can't decide on which candy to unwrapped and taste first *hee

I'm just thankful and grateful to God for His constant favour and blessing in Dan and my life - and we're still looking forward to more :)

Sushi wushi

It was a whole day affair for Dan and I yesterday. We spent our time around KL - mostly window shopping, and we managed to watched the movies "Wanted" and "Hancock" too :) Both movies were equally good, but if you're a huge fan of action-packed movies - "Wanted" would be a must watch.

We had lunch in Sungei Wang - I never knew that they had a food court located at the rooftop of the car park area. Food there is way cheaper than the ones located within the mall, so it's a really good place to have a good and cheap meal.

On the contrary, we had dinner at Sushi King, BTS. Its been awhile since I'd sushi, and the price of sushi has escalated tremendously 0_0 Still tastes good though :P~

We had only 6 different types of dishes (shown above), which amounted to RM41.60! I do know that Japanese cuisines have never been cheap, but I guess with the price increase in petrol and all - everything is getting more and more expensive 0_0

Maybe I should pack lunch & dinner the next time Dan and I do spend the whole day out *hee

The first & last baking session for this month

I'd intended to bake only once today, but my youngest sister kept pestering me the WHOLE morning to bake muffins during the night too - hence I ended up baking TWICE today, and it is definitely going to be the first & last baking session for July *Phew! Baking is extremely costly =_= I should find myself another hobby that doesn't require a single penny.

Baking butter cake was on my morning agenda. Woke up at around 7.30am, went for a jog, skipped breakfast, and started with the baking.

The butter cake was lovely. Soft and fluffy :)

Right after having dinner with Dan & my family, my litter sister and I started preparing the batter for the chocolate chip muffin. The batter was really sticky, had quite a difficult time transferring 'em into the paper cups.

The outcome: The muffin wasn't as sweet as we expected it to be. Good for those on a diet, but not for the sweet tooths.

After the cleaning, I felt really tired. In actual fact, I was done not too long ago. Still contemplating whether to jump straight into bed, or to take a bath *hee

Honestly speaking, I really need to shower :P

A kg a week does not keep the doctor away

Life has been pretty mundane for me since completion of my internship.
I've been home bound for the past week - eating, watching endless re-runs on tv, surfing the net, and more eating *smiles guiltily
I've only have another week of break left before starting my first day of work in Nestle as a product technologist, hence I'm trying my utmost best to savour this temporary mundaneness :)
Well there's nothing new about me to update on - other than the fact that I've put on 1 kg in just a week :P
I'm hoping I won't pile on another kg by the end of next week 0_0

This evening a Chinese man in his 20's rang on my doorbell. He claimed to be a representative from Nabinco Network Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Welley Sdn. Bhd. He said he was conducting a consumerism survey in conjunction with the opening of the company's shopping complex. After asking me a few basic consumer-related questions, he proceeded to explain that as an opening promotion, the shopping complex is having a lucky draw contest. Upon unveiling my lucky draw coupon, he said i won a mystery gift which could be a car. This whole conversation took place for about 30mins and he was trying to fish for a lot of my personal information and also trying to convince me to let him in as my grill door was still locked. Finally, his true agenda was revealed. He said that since the company will also advertise me as a lucky winner, i had to first pay RM3,880 cash for advertising fees and road tax/insurance for a car that i supposedly just 'won'. So i told him i wasn't interested and asked him to leave. I immediately ended the conversation and closed my apartment door.
Be aware of scams like this. Do not be hasty in giving any of your personal information to any strangers even if they offer you lucrative prizes. Always be suspicious and careful to scams.
Shortly after, i went online to google up the company names and found out that they were fraud companies. Knowing the person was still around my apartment premises, i called the police and tell them to arrest this guy. Apparently, the cops in Setapak branch station near where i live don't even know what i was talking about. They kept transferring my calls to different officers. Obviously they sounded so ignorant and lazy. Hence, it is up to ourselves to fend for our safety and be aware of scam-mers.

I'll be quite free for this coming week, hence would love to meet up with some of my ex-uni mates & friends that I haven't been in touch with lately - so do give me a buzz if anyone wants to meet up :)

However I'm not sure of the duration of my unemployment period, as I will be attending my second interview tmr at 5pm - hence if I do get accepted or choose to accept the offer, I'll most likely be starting by the second/mid week of July - I guess.
Thus please don't hesitate to call me *hee - and wish me well for my interview tmr :)

On the contrary, Dan has been and will be busy - but I'm grateful that he still makes time for me :)

Its a norm for us sisters to order or take away lunch/dinner when we're left lunch-less/dinner-less by our parents.

My parents are attending a church anniversary dinner tonight, hence we ordered Domino's Pizza. I miss having it with my darling Dan. Hmmm....

We ordered Value Meal 4 (RM 46++), which comprises of 2 regular pizzas, BBQ chicken wings, cinnamon sticks and a bottle of Coke - including banana kaya desert as an add-on. Yum :)

Beef pepperoni is still our all time favourite :P~

The not-so-new pizza on the menu - Classified Chicken. It's pretty good too.

Cinnamon stick tastes excellent with the sweet thick cream. Mmmmm

Banana Kaya - the best desert on the menu. Only RM4.80. I can eat this everyday! *hee

BBQ chicken wings - mediocre. Pizza Hutz's chicken wings still taste better, but when it comes to pizzas - Domino's outdo Hutz all the time!

I'm actually quite sick of fast food, but their most convenient when everyone is too lazy to eat out or cook in.

Dan and the rest of the Giant Timeline gang put on an excellent show at The Laundry, last Thursday. It's so good to see the band having such a fun time playing together, and I'd such an enjoyable time watching them and the crowd :)

I'm so proud of the band! *claps excitedly. Every song that they played sounded so good *claps more :P

I'm really glad that my parents and a few friends that I invited turn out for the gig. I honestly can't wait to watch them again!

For those that missed it, there will definitely be many more opportunities to catch them in action :)

Yo.....Everybody, well it seems i was too busy working that i missed out a whole LOT of stuff...especially on the June 13th 'Unrequited Love' post. VERY VERY INTERESTING comments ....!!!! Applaud applaud and bravo u guys.
HERE IS MY HUMBLE OPINION.......

First of all, love is subjective.... and religions/believes/faiths are also subjective. 'Fucking' or rather sex/making love/etc NOT subjective.
Love is a decision and a choice made in terms of deeds and feelings; how you wanna love someone and why. While SEX can be purely LUST or romance out of LOVE, it is an objective choice according to EVERYONE. Only a retard would not comprehend that and take SEX as a YAHOO free fun activity. Think about it.
Faiths/religions/believes is how an individual decides to live life in accordance to whichever god(s) they believe.
FOR INSTANCE....if u believe ur god is a dog....and it's will is for u to eat bones everyday then so be it.
If u believe ur god wants u live a proper example/testimony then so be it. Therefore, god will always be in any picture depending on one's believe. Think about it.

Being in a relationship however BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND , if they wanna 'fuck' u but u don't want to...yes u can be grateful somebody wants to stick their john-john into ur little-jane but it DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING if u choose not to. Out of love/patients/faith/believe/doubt or whatever the reason...we are entitled to choose to do it or not with a somebody. Think about it.

Problems will always arise no matter if u're boinking a Christian, or Muslim or Buddhist or Hindu. It's not right to question that believe because every human being reserve rights to choose their own believe. Also, if somebody made a mistake:
1) It doesn't mean their religion sucks. Because this would sound like "Eh the snatch thief is an Indian u know...all Indians are crooks la" Which isn't true.......
2) It's definitely not your God's fault or anybody's fault if someone makes a mistake. A familiar quote is that "Let he who has no sin casts the first stone". If ANYBODY in this world is perfect please STAND UP and show ur damn self...cuz nobody is perfect. Mistake happens...SO WHAT!!!!! Keep living in ur own good believe and the mistakes will make u a better person.

People will always stumble because of others mistakes and ppl will always have a religion or something to blame if something bad happens to them. But actually it's cuz their hurt and angry and choose to vent that anger out in a childish way. I use to smoke, get drunk and wasted all the time, smoke marijuana and overdose and vomit, curse a lot, hated a lot, rebelled, left home, stayed with the worst ppl ever, because i've been through having something bad happen to me and i just wanted to blame it on everything and everybody around church.

Any sane human being must understand this: EVERYBODY GOES THROUGH SHITS AND ITS NOT LIKE ITS GOD'S FAULT OR THE UNIVERSE' FAULT. Whatever freaking religion you believe in, there are those who will choose to bring GOD into the picture. Respect yourself and you will learn to respect others. If not your LOVE means NOTHING and SEX means NOTHING. Think about it.

I hope lots of you get to read this post. I think i'm worthy of saying stuff like this because i've been through a lot in life...and i don't need anybody's SYMPATHY. Just get on with your damn life and stop being PATHETIC just because some SHIT happened. I'm so tired of that crap man... stop BLAMING others for everything. Humans sleep like 1/3 their life's away and work another 1/3 of their life's. So another 1/3 u want spend on sulking/blaming others/hating...good for you la...pay a DEPRESSION tax to the government and maybe the government will form RUMAH/HOSPITAL ORANG KESIAN.

ALso, God does not only listen to a pastor's daughter's prayer only. We are all humans and in Christians faith, we believe God looks at everyone equally... I know i know, u're saying its unfair cuz there's some really evil ppl and some really good ppl but God looks at everyone the same.
Think bout this...if ur MUM or DAD does something really bad today...what would you do? Would rather be FAIR or UNFAIR??? Would you bend the law/rules or go against your principles or judge them or escape decisions.......??? Think about it.

Life is like that my brothers and sisters. It's nothing but COMMON SENSE. Have some tea, think about your deeds/mistakes/successes...then ask yourself
"Do I really wanna feel this way?"

Unrequited love

Let me be utterly honest.
I never once agreed with the statement 'Even if he/she doesn't love me in return, it is alright - what matters is that I'm still able to love he/she freely.'

In my opinion, the most hurtful and painful feeling that anyone could ever experience is caused by unrequited love.
And it is never ok , alright, or fine.

Those that could be completely fine and contented with it, would be God - and since no one is closed to even being God-like, it is never going to be ok to just love someone without wanting to be love in return.

No, I'm not having any issues with Dan (for those that have a tendency of jumping into conclusions) :P
But unfortunately a good friend of mine is going through some trying times in her love life.

It is however challenging for me to not reminisce about the past - where I'd the unwanted 'opportunity' of tasting its bitterness, the intense pain that felt like it would never go away, and having to bear and come to terms with the feeling of being no longer needed or desired.
It was indeed an excruciating period in my life then.

What so wonderful about going through the most dry and agonizing seasons in our lives, specifically in terms of love, is that it only makes us better - a better lover, a better friend, a better companion, and a better soul mate.

Believe me, I'd thoughts and I actually felt that I would never love again - but deep down in our hearts, we all that it isn't true :)
The beauty of love is that it continuous to persevere, even when hope is absent.

Yes, I am truly thankful and ever so grateful that I've found my perfect fit, Dan.
It was not the most enjoyable journey, but it was worth every tear and heartache.

P.S. Happy Belated 1st Anniversary Dan, and I'm only falling more and more in love with you each day :)

The Fly has been asking me to update the blog, but life has been pretty routine.

Will be celebrating mum's b'day this coming Saturday at Chilli's, but sadly Dan will not be free to join us :(

Its the end of the month again, and I'm sure most of you would have received your paycheck. Right? :) Thus if you're finding ways and a place to splurge 'em, head down to Groove Junction for both Friday & Saturday nights.

Tonight, Dan's band Giant Timeline with vocalist Elvira Arul will be grooving up the place with lots of R&B, Jazz & Funk tunes. Their definitely worth the watch, as they are a bunch of young & extremely talented souls.

Well the main recent both nights are a must watch because my handsome boy will be playing :)

78 and still going strong

Yesterday, I'd the opportunity of attending Dan's grandma's 78th birthday dinner at V Garden Restaurant in Klang.
I decided to bake a lemon frosted lemon cake for his grandma & family, as they have been very hospitable to me, whenever I do go over to his parent's place in Klang.

I did a trial run on Sunday, and it turn out perfect! The taste, colour and texture was just right, and I was very happy and please with the outcome.

Unfortunately, it didn't turn out too well when I baked it again yesterday :( Many cracks formed on the surface of the cake during the baking process, and it ended up looking like a mountain 0_0

With the icing on, it looks like a snowy mountain =_=

Thankfully the taste wasn't affected. It still tasted yummy, according to Dan's family and Dan :) According to Dan's grandma, the cracks could be due to too much baking powder.

Dan and I went over to Jusco Bukit Tinggi in the evening to purchase a Tiramisu cake for his grandma. Its her favourite cake. We got it from Secret Recipe, because it was the only cake shop that sold tiramisu.

We had the birthday dinner at V Garden Restaurant, which is located beside the Klang Hokkien Association building. Food was good, but most of the dishes were a tad salty.

Dan is very proud that he is the only grandson in the family. And not to mention, a very handsome one :P

Overall, I really had a good time having small chats with his family. And time spend with Dan is always wonderful :)

Of Dan, Food and Heels

In my previous post, I'd mentioned that I would take a week break from baking. However that wasn't the case *hee
Since I'd leftover ingredients, which were easily perishable - I decided to bake another cake on Tuesday by using the similar recipe for the Apple Cinnamon cake, but I replaced certain ingredients in the recipe. For example; I substituted cinnamon with vanilla essence, and chopped apples with raisins.

The outcome? Taste vice, it wasn't as good as the Apple Cinnamon cake. Majority preferred the Apple Cinnamon cake recipe.

On another note, Dan and I went on a date yesterday to celebrate his early 'graduation', since he is finally done with all his FYPs. I'm so happy for you hubby! :)

We went over to One U to catch The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian movie. Before the movie, we had dinner at Robert Harris. It was our first time there. Price vise, it is very affordable. However in terms of taste, I would rate it mediocre. I can't remember the exact name of the dishes that we had. My memory hasn't been doing so well lately *hee

Dan had Lamb with Herbs Rice. The lamb was stewed with lots of herbs and spices. The meat was tender and juicy - it was really appetizing. On the contrary, the herbs rice was a disappointment - no evidence of herbs could be detected by our taste buds.

I'd the Seafood platter, which consisted of 2 mini pieces of calamari, mussels, fish, and shrimps. The french fries that accompanied the seafood was soggy. Overall, the seafood and coleslaw wasn't too bad. However there is still much room for improvement.

Before Dan picked me up from work, one of the strap on my heels snapped! The heels are only a few months old, and I got them at a rather cheap price - RM20. Thus shorter life span *hahaha

When we arrived at One U, Dan and I searched high and low for a replacement. We went to a number of shoe shops, but our search was pretty unfruitful. The designs that I fancied somehow were always out of stock. I actually gave up, and told Dan to forget about getting one today. However Dan was persistent, and we finally found a pair that I like at Voir. Special thanks to Dan for being extremely patient and for sponsoring me a brand new pair of black heels :)

I wanted and still want to get a non-black one, but its hard to find one in my size =_= I'll be patient and wait, since it is not a necessity.

Anyway, I'm contented with what I have. Thanks Dan darling for always making me feel special, its definitely going to be a lonely weekend without you. I miss you already.
